Mid North Art Exhibition

This warm Spring evening, students of the year 11 class of the Orroroo Area School hosted the Mid North Art Exhibition. The students created, organised, hung and catered for an enthusiastic audience at the Outback Exposures Gallery in the main street of Orroroo.

Judging the works were Paul Pitkin, Orroroo Area School principal; Bud Stephenson, a highly regarded artist himself and Jackie Van de Borsch, well-respected art critic.

The decision was unanimous (I think) and Nicole Halls of nearby Morchard was declared the winner (to her surprise) with a template for another work “Inferno”, both of which were snapped up by the gallery owner Tim Froling.

Notable mention goes to second and third prize winners Kabo Mokone with a screen printed shirt titled “Skull” and Tenille Mannion’s mixed-media, “Alive, Butterfly, Love”.
